Article 5: Uses <br /> Section 5.15: Standards for Automotive/Transportation Related Uses <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Orange County, North Carolina – Unified Development Ordinance Page 5-156 <br /> <br />5.15.3 Motor Freight Terminal <br />(A) Use Standards <br />(1) Shall not be permitted as a Conditional Use District. Refer to Section 5.1.3 of <br />this Ordinance. <br />5.15.4 Motor Vehicle Maintenance <br />(A) Use Standards <br />(1) Shall not be permitted as a Conditional Use District. Refer to Section 5.1.3 of <br />this Ordinance. <br />5.15.5 Motor Vehicle Repair <br />(A) Use Standards <br />(1) Shall not be permitted as a Conditional Use District. Refer to Section 5.1.3 of <br />this Ordinance. <br />5.15.15.15.6 Motor Vehicle Sales / Rental (New & Used) <br />(A) Use Standards157 <br />(1) Shall not be permitted as a Conditional Use District. Refer to Section 5.1.3 of <br />this Ordinance. <br />(2) Within the NC-2, EC-5, and E-I Zoning Districts the display of vehicles outdoors <br />shall be limited to 32 vehicles per acre of property. <br />(3) Within the GC-4, I-1, I-2, I-3, EDB-1, EDB-2, and EDE-2, the display of vehicles <br />outdoors shall be limited to 45 vehicles per acre of property. <br />(A)(B) Submittal Requirements <br />(1) In addition to the information required by Section 2.5, the site plan shall show the <br />area for the display of vehicles for sale or rental. <br />(B)(C) General Standards of Evaluation <br />(1) Property shall have frontage and direct access onto a State maintained roadway. <br />(2) Areas of the property designated for the display of vehicles for sale or rent shall <br />be improved with an all-weather surface (i.e. concrete, asphalt, gravel) and shall <br />not be used for any other purpose. <br />(3) Additional vehicles, other than those offered for sale, rent or staff/customer <br />designated parking as required under Section 6.9 of this Ordinance, can be <br />stored on-site and shall be screened from view from adjacent properties and <br />public rights-of-way. Such vehicles shall not be included in the display limit <br />calculation. <br />(C) Standards for the NC-2, EC-5, and E-I Zoning Districts158 <br />(1) The display of vehicles outdoors shall be limited to 32 vehicles per acre of <br />property. <br />(D) Standards for GC-4, I-1, I-2, I-3, EDB-1, EDB-2, and EDE-2 <br /> <br />157 There are existing regulations governing the number of vehicles that can be displayed in the various zoning <br />districts land use is permitted.
