Examples of domestic wastewater include once-through non-contact cooling <br />water, seafood packing facility discharges, and wastewater from restaurants. <br />Discharge, Industrial <br />The discharge of industrial process treated wastewater or wastewater other than sewage. Stormwater <br />shall not be considered to be an industrial wastewater unless it is contaminated with industrial <br />wastewater. Industrial discharge includes: <br />a) Wastewater resulting from any process of industry or manufacture, or from the development of <br />any natural resource; <br />b) Wastewater resulting from processes of trade or business, including wastewater from <br />laundromats and car washes, but not wastewater from restaurants; or <br />c) Wastewater discharged from a municipal wastewater treatment plant requiring a pretreatment <br />program. <br /> <br />Disposal, Solid Waste <br />The discharge, deposit, injection, dumping, spilling, leaking or placing of any solid waste into or on any <br />land or water so that the solid waste or any constituent part of the solid waste may enter the environment <br />or be emitted into the air or discharged into any waters, including groundwater. <br />Disposal, Waste <br />The use of waters for disposal of sewage, industrial waste or other waste after approved treatment. <br />Ditch <br />A constructed channel, other than a modified natural stream constructed for drainage purposes, that is <br />typically dug through inter-stream divided areas. A ditch or canal may have flows that are perennial, <br />intermittent, or ephemeral and may exhibit hydrological and biological characteristics similar to perennial <br />or intermittent streams. <br />Dwelling, Multi-Family <br />A building or lot containing three or more dwelling units. <br />Dwelling, Single Family <br />A detached building containing one dwelling unit. <br />Dwelling, Two Family <br />A detached building containing two dwelling units (duplex). <br />Dwelling Unit <br />A room or group of rooms forming a single independent habitable unit with facilities used or intended to <br />be used for living, sleeping, cooking and eating by one family; for owner occupancy or for rental, lease or <br />other occupancy on a weekly or longer basis, and containing independent cooking, sanitary and sleeping <br />facilities. Units otherwise meeting this definition but occupied by transients on a rental or lease basis for <br />periods of less than one week shall be construed to be lodging units. <br />Mobile Homes and modular units are to be considered dwelling units under this definition. <br />EA <br />An Environmental Assessment. <br />EA, Completed <br />An Environmental Assessment that has been accepted by the Orange County Planning Department as <br />technically acceptable for purposes of this Ordinance. <br />EIS <br />An Environmental Impact Statement. <br />Formatte <br />Formatte <br /> 85
