Article 1: Administration <br /> Section 1.11: Erosion Control Officer <br /> <br /> <br />Orange County, North Carolina – Unified Development Ordinance Page 1-1 <br /> <br />(T)(U) Make periodic inspections throughout all SFHAs within the Orange County jurisdiction. <br />The Floodplain Administrator and each member of the Planning and Inspections <br />Department shall have a right, upon presentation of proper credentials, to enter on any <br />premises within the territorial jurisdiction of the department at any reasonable hour for the <br />purposes of inspection or other enforcement action. <br />(U)(V) Follow through with additional procedures of Section 9.7. <br />(W) Review, provide input, and make recommendations for variance requests.16 <br />(X) Coordinate and process with other County departments, State agencies, and FEMA, all <br />requests for modification of Federal Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) and/or Flood Insurance <br />Study (FIS) data including, but not limited to, Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA), Letters <br />of Map Revision (LOMR), and ‘No Impact’ findings on specific projects. <br />(V)(Y) In instances where the Floodplain Administrator receives assistance from others to <br />complete tasks to administer and implement this Ordinance, the Floodplain Administrator <br />shall be responsible for the coordination and community’s overall compliance with the <br />NFIP and the provisions of this ordinance. <br />SECTION 1.11: EROSION CONTROL OFFICER <br />1.11.1 Designation <br />The position of Orange County Erosion Control Officer is hereby designated. <br />1.11.2 Duties and Responsibilities <br />The Orange County Erosion Control Officer shall be responsible for carrying out the provisions of <br />this Ordinance related to erosion and sedimentation control and stormwater management. The <br />Orange County Erosion Control Officer shall work with the planning boards and the elected <br />governing boards of the planning jurisdictions within Orange County in administering and <br />enforcing the portions of this Ordinance related to erosion and sedimentation control. <br /> <br /> <br />16 Adding language contained within the revised FEMA minimum model ordinance to ensure consistency.  <br />Formatte <br />Formatte <br /> 36
