Article 5: Uses <br /> Section 5.17: Standards for Miscellaneous Uses <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Orange County, North Carolina – Unified Development Ordinance Page 5-150 <br /> <br />SECTION 5.17: STANDARDS FOR MISCELLANEOUS USES <br />5.17.1 Churches54 <br />(A) General Standards <br />(1) Churches are required to provide setbacks in residential districts; the minimum <br />shall be as follows: <br />TABLE 5.14.1.A: CHURCH SETBACK STANDARDS IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS <br />SETBACK DISTANCE (FEET) <br />Front 45 <br />Side 50 <br />Rear 50 <br />5.17.2 Community Center <br />(A) Standards for Class B Special Use Permit <br />(1) Submittal Requirements <br />In addition to the information required by Section 2.7, the following information <br />shall be supplied as part of the application for approval of this use: <br />(a) A description of the exact type of facility planned, the size of the building, <br />the number of participants; a signed statement from the owners or <br />operators that the facility will be operated by a non-profit organization. <br />(b) A site plan showing the location of the existing and proposed buildings, <br />access points, parking, service areas, and outdoor recreation areas. <br />(c) Building plans for all existing or proposed structures. <br />(d) Landscape plan, at the same scale as the site plan, showing existing or <br />proposed trees, shrubs, ground cover and any other landscape <br />materials. <br />(2) Standards of Evaluation <br />(a) Lot size shall be adequate for the method of sewage disposal, and for <br />the other improvements proposed or required. <br />(b) The site plan shall show the boundaries of the site, the distances to the <br />nearest residential structures, access points, parking areas, service area, <br />location of proposed existing buildings. <br />(c) The landscape plan shall be at the same scale as the site plan and <br />should show how the facilities will be screened from the adjacent <br />properties, in addition, to proposed or existing trees, shrubs, and ground <br />cover. <br />(d) Elevations of buildings should show that the buildings preserve the <br />residential character of the area. <br />5.17.3 Commercial Cemeteries 55 <br />(A) Standards for Class B Special Use Permit <br />(1) Submittal Requirements <br /> <br />54 Provisions/standards have been moved.  <br />55 Standards are being moved to the Services land use category.  <br /> 162
