• The emissions saved by this reduction is the equilvent of eliminating <br />888,000 vehicle miles driven per year. <br />Parking <br />The original design had 420 spaces paved during the initial construction phase. <br />That was changed for the initial CUP submittal to 328 paved in phase one and 92 <br />additional spaces in phase two, reducing areas of impervious surface in phase 1. <br />The 328 number is significantly less than the Orange County Construction <br />Standards. As the chart below indicates student parking has been reduced <br />significantly by 83 spaces, a 31 percent reduction. <br />Parking Analysis Phase I <br />Planned Student Capacity 800 <br />Orange County Standard 267 <br />Initial CHCCS Smart Grawth Reduction 200 <br />Additional CHCCS Amendment B Reduction 184 <br />Proposed Student Parking 184 <br />Proposed Staff Parking '100 <br />Proposed Visitor Parking 44 <br /> <br />Total Proposed Parking 328 <br />Upon further review, we have eliminated the request for the additional student <br />parking in Phase lh That would result in only 328 total parking spaces, While <br />there is no further reduction in Phase 1, efforts to find other ways to get students <br />to school will have a chance to work. before simply adding more parking, When <br />the addition is constructed, the shzdent enrollment will grow to 1,200 and the <br />staff will grow to 128, Without additional staff parking some downward <br />adjustment to shzdent parking will be required, The Board would reserve the <br />right to request a modification to the CUP in the future if growth or other <br />meastues warrant an increase. <br />The Board is sensitive to the neighborhood concerns about spill over parking on <br />Ray Road and the apartment complexes on Rock Haven Road. We feel that the <br />328 spaces requested will provide an opportunity to determine the sufficiency of <br />this capacity before considering additional parking, <br />Event parking is another consideration for the site, For Open Houses, rivalry <br />games, large concerts and commtmity events, adequate parking is required, The <br />pictures below show the overflow parking at an Open House at CHHS, We <br />
