According to a study from the UNC <br />Emergency Room, statistics show that 62% of rural elderly people are found to have <br />malnutrition or be at risk for malnutrition. <br />OCRA's program of providing hot meals to the vulnerable rural elderly members in the <br />unincorporated areas of Orange County helps combat all of the issues of being alone and <br />elderly. A program of delivering a hot meal, visiting briefly with a senior, and showing that <br />someone cares, is a simple way to show the older generation that they are not forgotten or <br />alone.
