Piping 12" and larger, supplement with high density <br />600 psi structural calcium silicate insert. Provide galvanized steel shield. Insert and shield to be <br />minimum 180 degree coverage on bottom supported piping and full 360 degree coverage on <br />clamped piping. On roller mounted piping and piping designed to slide on support, provide additional <br />load distribution steel plate. <br />Where contractor proposes shop /site fabricated inserts and shields, submit schedule of materials, <br />thicknesses, gauges and lengths for each pipe size to demonstrate equivalency to <br />preengi neered/preman ufactu red product described above.
