AGENCY INFORMATION (Be Very Brief and Concise) <br />Please provide the following information about your agency (2 pages OR LESS):. <br />a) Years in Operation, Date of Incorporation (Month /Year): 0712015 <br />Orange County Living Wage met initially on May 2, 2015, and was incorporated on July <br />30, 2015. We've been operating for just over 2.5 years. <br />b) Agency's Purpose /Mission (no more than a few sentences): <br />Orange County Living Wage (OCLW) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that promotes a living wage <br />as the minimum wage a worker should earn in Orange County, NC. Through our <br />voluntary employer certification program, we certify Orange County employers that pay <br />all part - and full -time employees a living wage. For 2018 the living wage is defined as <br />$13.70/hour without employer - provided health insurance and $12.20/hour with <br />employer- provided health insurance. <br />Our goals are to raise wages for workers in Orange County by: <br />• Rewarding and recognizing employers who pay their workers a living wage; <br />• Providing employers with incentives to pay a living wage; and <br />• Connecting consumers to living- wage - certified employers and encouraging them to <br />support those businesses and organizations. <br />c) Types of Services the Agency Provides (bullet format): <br />Orange County Living Wage: <br />Raises wages for lower -wage workers, so that more people who work in our county <br />can afford to live here. <br />• Provides a clearly calculated wage that is referenced to US HUD rent data, so that <br />employers and the community have a shared understanding of the minimum income <br />needed to live in Orange County. <br />• Makes the business case for living wages as a benefit to local employers and to the <br />community. <br />• Promotes our employers directly to consumers to increase consumer support of <br />living wage businesses and motivate more employers to certify and raise wages. <br />To accomplish the above, we: <br />• Contact diverse employers to advocate for our program and for the business <br />benefits of paying living wages; <br />• Meet with business owners 1 employers who wish to apply for certification; <br />Agency Information <br />1/21/2018 12:07:58 PM <br />Page 3 of 17 <br />
