We are <br />participating in a grant with NCCADV to add a task force sub - committee that works <br />specifically on the needs of Latinx clients and grows our community's collective <br />ability to serve our Spanish- speaking clients. <br />• Cross- training with Orange County Rape Crisis Center, UNC's Beacon Program, <br />CH -TOP Early Head Start/Head Start, Freedom House, UNC Horizons, and DSS. <br />• We are working with UNC Hospital's Beacon Program, as part of a NCCADV grant <br />project, to improve domestic violence training for medical professionals and create <br />more seamless client hand -offs between hospital staff and domestic violence service <br />providers to better ensure victims /survivors are identified and provided with services. <br />• We partner with Orange County Department of Social Services in several ways <br />including providing training on domestic violence issues for their staff and clients in <br />the Work First program and other departments on a regular basis. We cross -refer on <br />a daily basis as a portion of their clients need domestic violence services and <br />education and our clients need emergency assistance for food and shelter or need <br />child protective services involvement. <br />• Collaboration and cross - referral with seven law enforcement agencies in Orange <br />County and interaction daily or weekly with crisis unit in the Orange County Sheriff's <br />Office and the Chapel Hill Police Department. These agencies also assist with <br />volunteer hotline and advocate training. Several times per year we are part of the <br />Crisis Intervention Team training of select law enforcement officers. After being <br />selected by the N.C. Administrative Office of the Courts as a pilot site, this year we <br />are working with the Sheriff's Office, Clerk of Courts office, and the judiciary to <br />launch a DV protective order e- filing system. <br />• The Orange County District Attorney's office collaborates with our court advocate <br />and helps with hotline and advocate training. <br />0 Work with Legal Aid of North Carolina to help clients access free legal services <br />especially as it relates to protective order representation. We also have a <br />partnership with NCCADV to offer free legal services to Orange County residents as <br />it relates to protective order representation when Legal Aid services are full, and <br />child custody and divorce assistance. <br />C Continued partnerships with UNC School of Social Work as a field placement site for <br />MSW students, APPLES undergraduate service learning program, and UNC LGBTQ <br />Center.
