Our team of storytelling <br />interns from The UNC School of Journalism conducted several <br />teacher, student, and parent interviews to illustrate via written <br />stories, videos, and radio the impact that our program has on our <br />student - teacher pairs. Read those stories on our website blog at <br />www .musical - empowerment.org /blog. <br />Recitals, Community Performances & Events - Students demonstrate <br />and celebrate what they've learned at bi- annual recitals, community <br />performances before the NC Symphony and other venues, and at our <br />awareness and fundraising events, where they gain valuable <br />performance experience and help promote our cause. <br />The #PlayforME Challenge - Again this year, Musical Empowerment <br />volunteers and friends are challenging their friends to record videos <br />of themselves playing an instrument or singing and post them on <br />Facebook and /or contribute $10 (or more) to Musical Empowerment <br />as part of our annual "Strike a Chord with ME" campaign. <br />Please describe <br />March 23 -31, 2018 we held our annual week -long awareness and <br />efforts by your <br />fundraising campaign, "Strike A Chord with Musical Empowerment," <br />organization to <br />which engages our chapter volunteers through peer -to -peer <br />generate revenue. <br />fundraising. We also had several musicians, volunteers, and <br />supporters participate in #PlayforME Challenge to help raise <br />awareness and brought in total donations over $20,000. We also <br />receive funding from volunteer dues, chapter fees, and individual <br />donors, and will continue to grow our donor base through cultivation <br />activities and fundraising events.
