We estimate the demographic <br />breakdown to be as follows: <br />60% African - American <br />30% Latino /Hispanic <br />10% White <br />60% Male <br />40% Female <br />As the majority of students we serve are economically <br />disadvantaged, we estimate the majority of participants will qualify for <br />the National School Lunch Program (free or reduced lunch). <br />Location Description The project will take place at Boomerang Youth, located in Chapel Hill. <br />Artist Description <br />Are you hiring <br />multicultural artists <br />with the requested <br />funds from this <br />grant? <br />Sonny Kelly is an African - American artist and teacher with over a <br />decade of youth work in acting, poetry, and spoken word. <br />He has led workshops - supported by OCAC - at Boomerang during <br />the 2017 -18 school year, leading students through self- expression <br />activities that involved writing, spoken word and performing /public <br />speaking.
