IS <br />WHEREAS, community transportation systems are expected to provide safe, efficient <br />and effective transportation services, with as little duplication as possible; and <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation is committed to working <br />with the counties of Durham, Orange and Wake to improve the efficiency and <br />effectiveness of their community transportation systems and to help provide increased <br />mobility options for access to employment, education, medical and general <br />transportation; and <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation will pay for the cost of a <br />consultant to complete a Triangle Region Community Transportation Development Plan; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of the Triangle Region Community Transportation <br />Development Plan is to identify opportunities for regionalizing services among the <br />community transportation systems in Durham, Orange and Wake counties and with urban <br />and regional pazatransit systems in the Triangle; and <br />WHEREAS, (Durham, Orange or Walce) county will provide the staff resources and <br />support needed to participate in the development of the Triangle Region Community <br />Transportation Development Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, (Durham, Orange or Wake) county will consider recommendations in the <br />Triangle Region Community Transportation Development Plan when making future <br />decisions concerning its community transportation system; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the (Durham, Orange or Wake) County <br />Board of Commissioners that (Durham, Orange or Wake) county wishes to participate in <br />the development of the Triangle Region Community Transportation Development Plan <br />with the counties of (Durham, Orange and/or Wake), <br />Adopted this day of 2005 <br />Signatures _ <br />
