Box 8181 <br />Hillsborough, North Carolina 27278 <br />ECS Proposal No. 06:20895 <br />Reference: Proposal for Geotechnical Engineering Services <br />Southern Campus Expansion (Project # 2017027) <br />2551 Homestead Road <br />Chapel Hill, Orange County, North Carolina <br />Dear Ms. Barnes: <br />As requested, ECS Southeast, LLP (ECS) is pleased to present the following proposal for providing <br />geotechnical engineering services for the proposed Southern Campus Expansion in Chapel Hill, North <br />Carolina. <br />PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br />This proposal is based on the following sources of information: <br />• Emails between Ms. Angel Barnes with Orange County Asset Management and Mr. Aubrey <br />Lankford with ECS on June 19, 2018. <br />• The RFP for Geotechnical Services for Orange County Southern Government Campus Expansion <br />prepared by Smith Sinnett Architecture. <br />• Google Earth aerial view photos dated February 8, 2018. <br />• Site and topographic information obtained from site survey plan issued originally by Riley <br />Surveying, P.A. on July 26, 2012. <br />ECS understands the subject site is located at 2551 Homestead Road in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. We <br />understand the 34 -acre property is currently developed with two buildings and paved parking lots. <br />From the aerial images, the undeveloped areas of the property appear to be mostly <br />wooded. Topographic information provided on the site survey plan indicates that current site grades <br />range from approximately elevation 505 to 565 feet. <br />The project involves a 2,300 square foot addition to the east side of the Seymour Center and a 10,000 <br />square foot addition to the south side of the Human Services Building. The proposed additions will be 1- <br />story, steel frame /masonry structures.
