4 <br />Attachment <br />C 1260-10/00 <br />MANAGEMENT ANALYST I <br />GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK: <br />Performs intermediate professional and administrative work providing analytical support to <br />various projects and assisting with the County's public information and relations efforts; does <br />related work as required. <br />Work is performed under regular supervision. <br />TYPICAL TASKS: <br />Conducts research and data analysis for the Manager and Assistant Managers in preparation far . <br />meetings or in conjunction with ongoing projects; <br />Serves as County representative to various citizen advisory boards, committees and community <br />interest groups <br />Prepares and presents reports on complex issues; <br />Convenes forums to assess needs and input for community issues; <br />Applies for and secures grant funds; <br />Ensures that program agreements and funds are approved by Soard of Commissioners; <br />Attends and participates in meetings involving the development and implementation of new <br />programs; <br />Serves as staff support to board and committees; <br />Writes press releases; <br />Serves as public relations resource to various boards, commissions and advisory groups <br />throughout the community; <br />Drafts and develops informational materials including brochures, flyers and audiovisual <br />presentations; <br />Performs related tasks as required. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: <br />General knowledge of the organization; functions and programs of County government; general <br />knowledge of County policies and procedures; ability to comprehend program goals, objectives <br />and operations; general knowledge of the methods for preparing public informational materials <br />and obtaining their effective release through available media; ability to interpret and apply <br />policies, guidelines, and regulations; ability to establish and maintain effective working <br />relationships with County officials, employees, community agencies, private organizations and <br />the general public; ability to speak effectively before various groups; ability to communicate <br />effectively in writing. <br />EDUCATION AND EXPER.TENCE: <br />Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited <br />college or university with major course work in public administration, public relations, <br />communications, journalism or related field and at least one year experience in <br />program development, implementation and evaluation; public information; public relations or <br />related field. <br />
