Young, At -Large <br />Hudson Fuller, At -Large <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: <br />Mary Bowe (substituting for Dee Gamble) <br />Dee Gamble, Chair, Board of Social Services <br />Barry Jacobs, Board of County Commissioners <br />Sue Russell, Partnership for Young Children <br />Karen Current, At -Large <br />STAFF PRESENT: <br />Sharron Hinton, Management Analyst <br />STAFF ABSENT: <br />Albert Kittrell, Assistant County Manager; Corinthia Barber, Staff Support; Nancy Paciga, Staff Support. <br />Welcome and Members' Updates - Rosetta Wash, Chaired the meeting. Debbie and Rosetta have <br />agreed to take turns alternately chairing the meetings. Rosetta will also chair the April meeting, because <br />Debbie will be out of town. <br />Approval of minutes of February 19, 2001, was made with a correction paragraph 8, lines 33 -38, which <br />should read, "Debbie Kinert reported on the N.C. Self- Determination Leadership Network funded through <br />Robert Wood Johnson to enable folks with developmental disabilities in statewide self- determination. <br />Debbie was asked as a member of that group to go the legislative oversight committee meeting on mental <br />health reform and, as a part of that endeavor, she got involved with the mental health, developmental <br />disabilities, substance abuse - ombudsman possibility for the State. Debbie is also leading a work group to <br />provide information to Representatives and Senators about this. If anyone would like to, they the may join <br />this work with this group." <br />Member Updates were given by each member present on the recent activities of each one's organization. <br />Reappointments were discussed. Ms. Jeffries does not wish to be reappointed because of increasing <br />personal time commitments. She said she has asked Mr. Fletcher Barber, Director, Orange County <br />Cooperative Extension Service, to find a replacement to represent the Extension Service on the Human <br />Services Advisory Commission. <br />
