Box 8181 <br />200 SOUTH CAMERON STREET <br />HILLSBOROUGH, NC 27278 <br />WWW.CO.ORANGE.NC.US <br />MINUTES <br />October 15, 2001 <br />60pntY of \ <br />��rfh �aYa`�r <br />The Human Services Advisory Commission met in regular session at 5:30 p.m., October 15, 2001, at the <br />Government Services Center, Hillsborough, NC 27278. <br />Call to Order 5:30 p.m. <br />ESTABLISHMENT OF QUORUM: Co -Chair Wash announced that a quorum was present. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Robin Barnhill; Marvin Block; Louise Echols; Melvin Hurston; Barry Jacobs; Sue <br />Russell; Rosetta Wash; Rebecca Young. <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Mary Bowe; Debbie Kinert; David Thompson. <br />STAFF PRESENT: Corinthia Barber; Sharron Hinton; Nancy Paciga. <br />STAFF ABSENT: Albert Kittrell, Assistant County Manager. <br />MEMBER UPDATE: Ms. Echols commented that the Health Department will sponsor a car seat education <br />program at which car seats will be given away. <br />Mr. Jacobs congratulated the members of the HSAC on the 2001 Forum. He said that as a County <br />Commissioner he is proud to be a part of this. He also said that there will be a meeting tomorrow night about the <br />anthrax precautions. He said that in this community that we are very well aware of and trained in this type of <br />problem. <br />Ms. Barnhill asked if staff had compiled all the responses from the Forum. She said she had heard some <br />comments from folks that we should not have had the forum because of the September 11th tragedy.
