Human Services Advisory Commission — Minutes — March 19, 2001 — Page 2 of 2 <br />determination Leadership Network funded through Robert Wood Johnson to enable folks with <br />developmental disabilities in statewide self - determination. Debbie was asked as a member of <br />that group to go the legislative oversight committee meeting on mental health reform and, as a <br />part of that endeavor, she got involved with the mental health, developmental disabilities, <br />5 substance abuse - ombudsman possibility for the State. Debbie is also leading a work group to <br />provide information to Representatives and Senators about this. If anyone would like to, they the <br />may join this work with this group." <br />Reappointments were discussed. Ms. Jeffries does not wish to be reappointed because of <br />10 increasing personal time commitments. She said she has asked Mr. Fletcher Barber, Director, <br />Orange County Cooperative Extension Service, to find a replacement to represent the Extension <br />Service on the Human Services Advisory Commission. Ms. Echols said that she would like to be <br />reappointed to a second term. <br />15 Setting date of April Meeting There had been some discussion among staff that the <br />Commission would not be able to meet at the set date of April 16, 2001, because it is Easter <br />Monday. However, the Commission decided to meet on the set date, the third Monday, April 16, <br />2001. <br />20 Review of Funding Applications for Non - Profit Organizations - <br />1.Overview and Instructions - Co- Chairs and Sharron Hinton, Management Analyst, County <br />Manager's Office <br />2. Breakout Review Groups - All members present. The members finished reviewing and <br />25 making notes on all of the funding applications. There were three break out groups. One <br />group turned in its recommendations to Sharron; the other two finished the review, but would <br />like to type the notes and will email those to Sharron in the near future. <br />3.
