Human Services Advisory Commission <br />Government Services Center p� <br />Hillsborough, N.C. <br />July 179 2000, 5:30 P.M. <br />Minutes > <br />The Human Services Advisory Commission met on July 17, 2000 at 5:30 <br />Services Center, in Hillsborough, N.C. p.m. at the Government <br />1 <br />2 Members Present: Robin Barnhill <br />3 , Marvin Block, Dee Gamble Lynette David Thompson, Jr., Rebecca Young. yn tte Jeffries, Deborah Kinert <br />4 , <br />5 Members Absent: Louise Echols, Mel Hurston, Barry Jacobs, Sue Russell, sell, Rosetta Wash. <br />7 Staff Present: Corinthia Barber, Sharron Hinton, Nancy Martin. <br />8 <br />9 Staff Absent: Albert Kittrell, Assistant County Manager. <br />10 <br />11 Welcome: <br />12 Co -Chair Debbie Kinert opened the meeting and welcome <br />13 updates. Louise Echols was ill and could not attend this evenin the members and asked for member <br />14 g <br />15 Debbie also mentioned that Barry Jacobs, Orange County Commissioner <br />16 Commission, sends his regrets that he is out of town in Georgia working and member of this <br />1 g and could not attend. <br />18 Member Introductions and Reports: <br />2V Dee Gamble, Board of Social Services: The Board of Social Services i <br />21 appointment to its Board which will be the fifth member, making a co s getting ready to make an <br />22 g complete Board. <br />23 Minutes of June 19, 2000 The minutes were approved as corrected. <br />24 <br />25 Membership There was discussion about vacancies on <br />26 reviewed: 1) Ms.Hudson Fuller; 2) Ms. Patty M. Hill; 3)tMrC emmission. Four applications were <br />27 There was also discussion about seeking more diversity on the Commission') Hill, and 4) Mr. Saul G. Services Advisory <br />35 <br />36 A motion was made by Dee Gamble, and seconded by Rebecca Youn <br />37 to recommend Ms. Hudson Fuller and Mr. Terry Hill to be a ointed and unanimously approved, <br />38 positions. pp t to two of the vacant at -large <br />39 <br />10 Staff was instructed to contact the Directors of OPC Area Program, <br />11 United Way to notify them of the continued vacancies on the Human Communities -In- Schools, and <br />�2 Services Advisory Commission. <br />
