She will be replacing Karen Taylor, whose term expired March 31, 1999. Many <br />thanks to Karen for her participation on the HSAC! <br />UNTED WAY COMMUNITY ASSESSMENT <br />Mr. Geno Pichette called and told me that he has communicated with Anita Daniels of the <br />United Way who spoke to us at the April 19th meeting about the Community Assessment. He <br />could not attend tonight's meeting because he is out of town. He reported that he will follow -up <br />with Ms. Daniels and make a report at our June 21 st meeting. <br />UNITED WAY ALLOCATIONS <br />The United Way Annual Allocations have been decided. Mr. Hersch Slater will discuss this <br />with us at tonight's meeting. <br />1999 GOVERNOR'S AWARDS <br />The Planning Committee for the 1999 Governor's Awards met today at the Galleria Senior <br />Center. The tentative date for the 1999 Governor's Awards for Outstanding Volunteer Service is <br />October 7, 1999. The judging will take place on May 27th, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. The <br />Planning Committee is requesting HSAC to provide a judge to sit on that panel. We should <br />discuss this tonight and decide who to recommend to the Planning Committee as a judge from <br />HSAC.
