County GIS database to locate desirable areas for future development (considering the proposed <br />Triangle Transit Authority transit corridor to the extent possible) and for open space preservation <br />(considering the Stoney Creek corridor connecting Duke Forest to the Eno River proposed by <br />the Triangle Land Conservancy). <br />Plan evaluation shall include traffic and transit impacts of each alternative, utilizing the County <br />traffic model as appropriate. It shall also consider other impacts, including watershed <br />protection, open space preservation, development- inducing effects of water and sewer extensions, <br />mixed land uses, and fiscal responsibility and revenue base diversification. <br />I <br />Plan presentation shall take place during a series of meetings with the Planning Group, <br />including: <br />1. Kick -off meeting to introduce the project and people and hear client concerns. <br />2. Presentation and discussion of the suitability analysis results. <br />3. Presentations of the three plan alternatives and their evaluations (possibly in separate <br />meetings, starting with the Status Quo plan and comparing successive plans). <br />TASKS: <br />1) Meet with planning staff and soil scientist to discuss scope of work, background, resources, <br />area opportunities and constraints, and work schedule. <br />2) Visit site to inspect existing development pattern, Duke Forest, New Hope Elementary School <br />and new Middle School, and Southern Railway line. <br />3) Hold series of meetings with Planning Group. <br />4) Compile GIS data and conduct areawide suitability analysis. <br />5) Prepare sketch land use plans and review with Orange County staff. <br />6) Analyze impacts of alternative plans and review with Orange County staff. <br />7) Present findings verbally and in printed report. <br />PRELIMINARY SCHEDULE: <br />Jan. 13. Critique Open Space and Neotraditional plans. <br />Mar. 3. Initiate impact analyses. <br />Week of Mar. 6 -10. Spring break. <br />Mar. 1.7.
