D� M V <br />STONEY CREEK BASIN SMALL AREA PLANNING GROUP <br />JANUARY 25, 1996 <br />MINUTES <br />The Stoney Creek Basin Small Area Planning Group met on Thursday, <br />January 25, 1996 at 7:30 p.m. in the Orange County Government <br />Services Center at 200 South Churton Street, Hillsborough, N.C. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Curtis Bane, David Yelton, Steve Price, Judd <br />Edeburn, Dan Teichman, Bob Strayhorn, Lee Rafalow, James Bumphus, <br />Elio Soldi, Dean Zehnder, Clint Burklin, and Bob Hall. <br />ALTERNATES PRESENT: Irene Van Dyke and Dan Kenan . <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Bobby Nicholson, Trudy Cuffe, Gary Hanker, Meg <br />McKean, Michael Warner, Keith Cook, Bill Bracey, Renee Price, <br />Stephen Halkiotis, and Don Willhoit. <br />PRESS: Jennifer Money <br />STAFF PRESENT: Planners Gene Bell and Emily Cameron. <br />FACILITATOR PRESENT: versa Insko <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />A quorum was established at 7:45 and Facilitator, Verla Insko <br />called the meeting to order. The group agreed to consider Item 3 <br />on the agenda first since some members of the Preliminary Design <br />Subcommittee had not arrived. <br />STATUS OF IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY SUBCOMMITTEE EFFORTS <br />Gene Bell gave a brief of subcommittee efforts. He indicated that <br />poor attendance and bad weather had hindered the work of the group. <br />He indicated that he had discussed possible strategies with <br />Planning Director, Marvin Collins, and that he (Collins) had <br />suggested an approach similar to that employed in the Economic <br />Development Districts Design Manual which entailed identifying the <br />planning area, defining the land use intensity classifications, <br />defining permitted uses for each classification, and determining <br />design standards that would be applicable in the area. <br />1 <br />
