33 <br />AMENDMENT TO <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br />LAIDLAW ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES (TS), INC. <br />AND <br />THE COUNTY OF CHATHAM, THE COUNTY OF DURHAM, <br />THE COUNTY OF ORANGE, THE COUNTY OF WAKE, <br />THE TOWN OF CARRBORO, THE TOWN OF CHAPEL HILL, <br />AND THE CITY OF DURHAM <br />CONCERNING <br />HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION <br />THIS AMENDMENT agreed to this day of October, 1997, by, between, and among the <br />Counties of Chatham, Durham, Orange, and Wake; the City of Durham; and the Towns of Carrboro and <br />Chapel Hill (hereinafter collectively referred to as Sponsors); and Laidlaw Environmental Services (TS), <br />Inc. (hereinafter referred to as LES). <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, Sponsors desire to conduct Household Hazardous Waste Collection Programs to <br />provide a safe, convenient place where citizens of the Sponsors can dispose of stored household hazardous <br />wastes; and <br />WHEREAS, Sponsors desire to hire a professional contractor knowledgeable and experienced in <br />conducting such waste disposal programs; and <br />WHEREAS, I,ES has provided the following services to Sponsors since October of 1994; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual goals and covenants contained herein, and <br />the mutual benefits to result therefrom, the parties agree that the AGREEMENT BETWEEN LAIDLAW <br />ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES (TS), INC. AND THE COUNTY OF CHATHAM, THE COUNTY OF <br />DURHAM, THE COUNTY OF ORANGE, THE COUNTY OF WAKE, THE TOWN OF CARRBORO, <br />THE TOWN OF CHAPEL HILL, AND THE CITY OF DURHAM CONCERNING HOUSEHOLD <br />HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION dated October 4, 1994 is hereby amended as follows: <br />(1) In Paragraph 1, insert the words "beginning October 4, 1997" between the words "years" and <br />"provided" in line 3. <br />
