TDM efforts and the impacts of the Triangle TDM program in Orange County. They will <br />then use that data to create and distribute persuasive and authoritative messaging about <br />the benefits of TDM for commuters. <br />■ Proposed Outputs and Outcome Tracking <br />• Use local events (i.e. Earth Day, Employee Appreciation Lunch, and <br />Farm to Fork) to promote the benefits of alternative commuting. <br />• Table at four local events held within the County and discuss <br />ongoing initiatives. <br />• Create material that can be discussed during both the BOCC <br />annual retreat and an event hosted by Hillsborough / Orange <br />County Chamber of Commerce. <br />4.2.j Promote Regional Bike to Work Month. - The Orange County TDM Coordinator <br />will create marketing plans to extend the reach of unified regional Bike to Work Month <br />campaign, leveraging ongoing efforts by the Sustainability Program and the Planning and <br />Inspections Department to catalog, map, and improve County bicycle infrastructure. The <br />TDM Coordinator will customize regional bicycle commute marketing materials, and <br />create their own as necessary. <br />■ Proposed Outputs and Outcome Tracking <br />• Work with the Bicycle Safety Task Force to promote safe bicycling <br />practices. Additionally, incorporate the videos created for that promotion <br />during the Lighten Up Campaign. <br />o Present road sharing videos to potential riders during the Lighten <br />up Campaign. <br />• Work with the local bike shop to promote bike month, provide <br />demo /discounts <br />4.3.b Seek placements in traditional media (TV, print, radio) for current events <br />and /or feature stories. - The Orange County TDM Coordinator will collaborate with <br />County Public Relations staff to seek appropriate placements in local news media such <br />as the News of Orange, WCHL radio, and the Triangle Business Journal.
