BACKGROUND: The last time that the Planning Board reviewed the Rules of Procedure was during the second quarter of 1996. The BOCC subsequently amended the Rules of Procedure on June 26, 1996. Good administrative practice is to review the procedures from time to time for updating and clarification, if necessary. Section 2.2.6 of the Zoning Ordinance requires that the Board of County Commissioners adopt the Rules of Procedure and approve any revisions thereto. This update is to incorporate more specific guidelines in the agenda setting process, which will set forth responsibilities and procedures for the regular meetings. [See new Section B of Article VII-Meetings] A second proposed revision is to clarify when a member is separated from the Planning Board. These revisions will specify that termination of a member's tenure will occur upon either replacement or the submittal, in writing, of a voluntary resignation. [See new Section number 6.4 under Article III -Members]
