The CPI -U used shall he the percentage of movement of the U.S. Department of <br />Labor, Consumer Price Index, All Items, Unadjusted, and Urban Areas for the 12 -month period <br />ending in January of each Contract year for collection pricing alone. <br />COMPOST. Processed Organic Waste Material, the resulting finished product containing collected <br />materials, designated as Class -A compost according to North Carolina regulation and testing. <br />COMPOSTABLE LINER: Liners placed in organic waste receptacles to contain materials and <br />preserve the cleanliness of the receptacle when regular rinsing is not available <br />CONTRACTOR: The applicant, vendor, proposer and entity providing the services requested and <br />outlined in the request for proposal and contract. <br />COUNTY: Orange County, North Carolina, the Project Officer outlined in the request for proposal <br />and contract. <br />COUNTY'S RESPRESENTIVE- The main contact person between the Contractor and the County as <br />it relates to contract management, issues, education and outreach, etc. <br />MULTI -UNIT HOUSING: Any housing unit throughout Change County comprising of more than four <br />(4) separate housing units such as apartment or condominium buildings. <br />ORGANIC WASTE MATERIAL: Is defined as generated organic waste material that included not <br />only food waste but also wet paper and floral waste and other food waste such as prep waste or <br />post- consumer waste to include vegetables, fruits, meats, and grains, coffee grounds and <br />brewery waste. Bones, fats and dairy products as well.. <br />ORGANIC WASTE MATERIALS PROGRAM: County provided program for organic waste materials <br />collection for qualified participants. The County and Contractor coordinate service and the <br />County will pay the Contractor for services rendered. <br />PARTICIPANT: Business, Government entity, non - profit, multi - housing property, or other entity <br />utilizing the organic waste materials program. <br />RECEPTACLE: Container holding organic waste material prior to collection by the Contractor.
