Setting up new participants, education program, and contamination notification tagging process, and <br />general program process to remain the same. Especially duringthe first year of the new contract. <br />9. What aspects of the program do you hope to change from the current program? <br />a. The proposed changes are to pickup food waste directly from large events and to expand the <br />program with set meeting times to utilize as needed. All other aspects of the program remain the <br />same. <br />RId Submission Format/Information <br />10. For positions or equipmentthat would be added to current resources during the ccntractdueto expansion, <br />how would it be best to submit that information? <br />a. Describe and list in proposal. All costs should be rolled up into Table's 1 & 2 in Attachment I of the <br />RFP. <br />Ca I lections <br />11.The t_istof current participants includes UNC hospital, will they be included as part of the initial participants? <br />a. To date, yes, they are on the program and the largest participant. The County, Contractor and <br />participant are currently in talks with the participant contracting and payingfor their own composting <br />collection. The County will continue to provide updates as needed. <br />12. The bid states that the carts must be emptied and rinsed onsite usinga mechanical tipping mechanism <br />attached to the truck. Is swapping carts that are then emptied off-site acceptable? <br />a. Yes. <br />Education and Growth <br />13. Educational video states it will be In English and Spanish, is this one video dubbed over, one video subtitled, <br />or two separate videos? <br />a. Currently two separate videos. Alternatives would be considered. <br />Compost <br />14. Are there any requirements on the quality /type of compost? OMRI or STA certified? <br />a. Must meet EPA and North Carolina designations and requirements for Class A Compost. While a STA <br />or OMRI certification is preferred, compost product negotiations would be decided atthe time of <br />award. <br />Orange County, 200 S.
