Clean Harbors will discuss the County's criteria for establishing a "reuse" <br />program at each site where certain materials will be offered to the public for free. Items that are <br />unacceptable for re -use will be handled according to the following guidelines. <br />* Latex Paint will be bulked into 55- gallon drums or totes for stabilization and disposal <br />* Oil -Based Paint in pints and quarts, as well as larger cans of solidified paint, will be loose <br />packed into 55- gallon fiber drums and /or cubic yard boxes. <br />* Aerosols will be combined and loose packed into 55- gallon steel drums. <br />* Acids, Bases, Oxidizers and Poisons will be lab packed into 55- gallon drums for incineration. <br />Note: Pesticide materials should be acceptable for disposal under the NC Dept. of <br />Agriculture which means that the County should not have to pay for disposal of these <br />materials. <br />* Reactives, including water reactives and organic peroxides, will be lab packed into 5- gallon <br />poly pails for incineration. <br />* Radioactive Materials —Clean Harbors' rates do not include the cost for disposing of these <br />items.
