Affordable Housing Advisory Board <br />300 West Tryon Street Room 250 <br />Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br />Minutes of Tuesday, May 9, 2017 <br />Members Present: Noah Oswald, Eleanor Kinnaird, Tammy Jacobs, Narayanan Venkatakrishnan Palikad, Daniel <br />Bullock <br />Excused Absence: Patsy Barbee, Arthur Sprinczeles, Nannie Richmond <br />Unexcused Absence: Josh Brown, Alex Nickodem <br />Guest: Keith Cook <br />Staff Present: Annette Moore, Interim Director; Renee Holmes, Housing Program Coordinator and Angela Rockett, <br />Administrative Assistant <br />Welcome /Introduction <br />In the absence of the Chair & Co- Chair, Noah Oswald called the meeting to order at 6:20 p.m. <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Minutes tabled due to lack of quorum. <br />Department /County Report <br />Annette Moore discussed the homeless preference. It has been added to the Administrative Plan to allow the <br />homeless to move up on the list quickly. <br />Ms. Moore discussed the 2016 Affordable Housing Bond Funds. She stated that Ellie Kinnard was appointed to <br />serve on the committee to look at proposals for the 2016 Affordable Bond Funds. Ms. Moore stated that she <br />would provide a list of proposals that have come out, the amounts of the requests and what they are for. <br />Proposals received: <br />Centre for Homeownership — it is not clear from their proposal exactly what their request is. It looks like it's for <br />acquisition of property. <br />Habitat for Humanity has a proposal for $125,000 for senior housing at Waterstone. <br />CASA has two proposals for Merritt Mill East and Merritt Mill West which are for rentals. <br />Empowerment has two proposals for acquisition of rental housing. <br />Ms. Moore stated that these are the proposals and they would be meeting Thursday and again next week to come <br />up with recommendations and will share them with the AHAB board before they are put before the board of <br />county commissioners. <br />
