Parlikad, Doug Boemker, Cain Twyman, Mae McLendon, Jenn Sykes, <br />Tammy Jacobs <br />Excused Absence: Noah Oswald, Allison Mahaley, Eleanor Kinnaird <br />Unexcused Absence: Adrian Moreno, Kolby Herndon, Joshua Brown, Alex Nickedem <br />Staff Present: Angela Rockett, Administrative Assistant, Renee Holmes, Housing Program Coordinator <br />Guest: Nannie Richmond, Patsy Barbee <br />Welcome /Introduction <br />Keith Cook called the meeting to order at 6:06 p.m. The board introduced themselves and welcomed <br />new members. <br />Approval of Minutes <br />N.V. Parlikad made a motion to approve the March 14,2017 minutes, seconded by Keith Cook approved <br />unanimously. Mae McLendon made a motion to approve the minutes from the April 11, 2017 meeting, <br />seconded by Cain Twyman, approved unanimously. Mae McLendon made a motion to approve the May <br />9, 2017 minutes, seconded by Jenn Sykes, approved unanimously. <br />Department /County Report <br />Angela Rockett shared with the board that Sherrill Hampton is the new director for the Housing Human <br />Rights & Community Development department. She starts her new position on August 21, 2017. <br />Renee Holmes discussed the HOME program budget that was approved by the Board of County <br />Commissioners. These funds are allocated from the U.S. Department of HUD's HOME funds. Ms. Holmes <br />stated that the total budget is $394,656.00. The money is allocated to Habitat for Humanity, Rebuilding <br />Together of the Triangle, EmPOWERment, Inc. and Orange County Housing Rehabilitation and <br />Administration. <br />Keith Cook asked about the Housing Rehabilitation team. Ms. Holmes explained that the HHRCD <br />department has two staff currently and that the BOCC has approved the position for a Rehabilitation <br />Specialist. She explained that department rehabilitation program is a list of people that don't meet the <br />criteria for the Urgent Repair program, which is funded by the county. She stated that the Urgent Repair <br />program was approved to receive $100,000 from the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency. <br />
