She encouraged the AHAB board to attend and share their <br />comments with that BOCC. <br />The Resolution does two things: <br />• Expands the Committee's role to allow for broader strategic discussions about affordable <br />housing and how Orange County governments can better work together around this issue. <br />• Re -names the Committee to "Orange County Local Government Affordable Housing <br />Collaborative ". <br />Other items that the proposed Collaborative would undertake include: <br />• strategize about funding options; <br />• provide updates on projects and affordable housing efforts, as wee as code or policy changes; <br />• provide guidance on administration of the HOME Program activities; <br />• help tell the story of the impact of our affordable housing initiates; <br />• develop shared targets and goals for affordable housing preservation and development and <br />track progress over time; and <br />• serve as advocates for affordable housing in Orange County (elected officials) <br />Ms. Mahaley wanted to know if there is an Advisory Board for HOME in addition to the AHAB board. <br />Ms. Hampton stated that there is not a separate advisory board comprised of citizens. Ms. Hampton <br />stated that in the future, recommendations from the AHAB would be shared with the HOME Program <br />Consortium members. There was discussion about how important it is to get reports from the <br />Consortium so the AHAB Advisory Board can answer questions, if approached by the community. <br />Ms. Kinnaird requested a list of the people on the Chapel Hill and Carrboro Advisory boards. She also <br />suggested getting together with these boards and Mr. Cook stated that he suggested that at the last <br />meeting. December 8, 2017 is a tentative date for the Affordable Housing Coalition Summit. Ms. <br />Hampton will confirm that date. <br />Ms. Hampton will provide follow -up regarding the following items: <br />• Ensure that there is an avenue for getting AHAB input to the HOME Consortium <br />• Host an annual meeting of all the advisory boards that are focusing on affordable housing <br />• Report back to the AHAB board and each of the other applicable boards on information from the <br />County <br />• Provide a listing of who serves on the other Advisory Boards <br />• Confirm date on upcoming summit sponsored by the Affordable Housing Coalition <br />• Provide a copy of the proposed Resolution <br />HOME & Other Housing Programs: <br />Renee Holmes provided updates on the HOME and other housing programs. The Consolidated Annual <br />Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER) has to be submitted by 9/30. This is submitted to HUD to show <br />how the money is spent. Ms. Holmes stated that the CAPER will be posted on the website and she will <br />bring copies to the next meeting. <br />Ms. Holmes discussed that funding is received from North Carolina Housing Finance Agency. The grant <br />funding is for urgent repair. She stated that the County has an urgent repair program, but $100,000 was <br />
