Parlikad, Allison Mahaley, Keith Cook, Doug Boemker, Jenn <br />Sykes, Ellie Kinnaird <br />Excused Absence: Noah Oswald, Cain Twyman, Tammy Jacobs <br />Unexcused Absence: Joshua Brown, Adrian Moreno, Kolby Herndon, Alex Nickodem <br />Staff Present: Sherrill Hampton, Director; Angela Rockett, Administrative Assistant, Renee Holmes, <br />Housing Program Coordinator <br />Welcome /Introduction <br />(Board members asked Mr. Cook to serve as Acting Chair and moderate the meeting.) <br />Keith Cook called the meeting to order at 6:07 p.m. AHAB members introduced themselves. <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Ellie Kinnaird made a motion to approve the August 8, 2017 minutes, Allison Mahaley seconded the <br />motion and the minutes were approved unanimously. <br />Department /County Report <br />Sherrill Hampton introduced herself and shared information about her background and experience. She <br />reviewed the items in the packets distributed to the members. Ms. Hampton provided the following <br />updates: <br />Upcoming Proposed Resolution: <br />Ms. Hampton shared that the County Manager, management and staff at the other jurisdictions and <br />several elected officials are proposing a resolution to expand the work of the HOME Program Review <br />Committee. She stated the County receives federal HOME dollars and there is a Consortium with a <br />committee that has oversight of the funds. The HOME Program Consortium members are the Towns of <br />Carrboro, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough and Orange County. The County serves as the administrator of the <br />HOME Program funds. Renee Holmes, Housing Program Coordinator will share additional updates on <br />the County housing programs. <br />Ms. Hampton shared that the resolution was proposed based on comments received from community <br />members during discussion about the 2016 Affordable Housing Bond, as well as those received at a <br />recent Assembly of Governments meeting. The proposed resolution would allow for a more strategic <br />and collaborative effort on how the money is spent. The current HOME Program Committee advises on <br />and makes recommendations to each of the Consortium members for their approval. The resolution will <br />
