the population that should be served. The greatest need is rental housing on the <br />lowest end. Ms. Spencer - Horsley wants to go back to the board with a matrix of <br />income so that the BOCC can see that the workforce population will be served. <br />The first million dollars is allocated for strategies for mobile homes. Another <br />million dollars was put in budget this year for other affordable housing needs and <br />projects. Also, we can get request for proposals for county owned land. Ms. <br />Spencer - Horsley stated that the criteria is to get the maximum units for the site. <br />The planning department is looking for ways to increase and expand affordable <br />housing. <br />Diane Beecham gave update on the Bond Education committee. All of the visuals <br />have been published and the website is up. The website is www.ocbond.org. <br />There will be posters on Chapel Hill buses and a publication in the Chapel Hill <br />newspaper. <br />Other Business <br />Ms. Spencer - Horsley reminded the board that the annual report will be due in <br />December. We will prepare a draft in November and submit the report in <br />December. The Director of the Planning Department, Craig Benedict, will be the <br />guest speaker for the October meeting. Ms. Spencer - Horsley encouraged the <br />board to have questions for Mr. Benedict. <br />Tammy Jacobs wanted to know if the conference was still in the plans.
