At least one different poster from five targeted
audiences would be designed. We previously only planned for the following four
audiences: There would be one generic poster, one targeted to drivers, one to riders and
one to children. We now will add a fifth poster, with an EMS theme for both drivers and
cyclists. The posters would be designed in such a way that they all complement each
other.
• Media
First year budget funds of approximately $3,700 have been made available for social
media ads on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, print and /or radio ads (WCHL Radio,
News of Orange, etc.). Audio PSAs will be produced by WCOM Radio.
• Branded Swag
A modest amount of branded swag (promotional marketing items) has been purchased to
promote the campaign:
• Table cloth and branded runner for events
• Bicycle pins (non- branded)
• Reflective bicycle straps
• Ink pens
• Handlebar bells for kids (non- branded)
• Rules of the Road cards in English and Spanish (provided by GoTriangle)
• Volunteer gifts
We are considering one or two additional swag items.
• Campaign Launch
The Campaign Launch will be June 5th with a presentation to the BOCC. The video PSAs
will be shown, and several participants from the Cedar Ridge Video Club will be
recognized.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no immediate financial impact associated with this item.
Budgeted funds from FY 17/18 are being utilized.
RECOMMENDATION(S): Staff recommends that the OUTBoard:
1.
