MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES <br />June 1, 2018 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />transition into NC FAST. DHHS plans to take no action with counties before January 1, 2019. <br />Following such time, DHHS would enter into corrective action plans with counties, if indicated by the <br />performance measures. <br /> <br />Ms. Coston noted she will be presenting the information on the MOU and the Performance <br />Measures to the County Commissioners on June 19, 2018. She noted she is requesting the <br />Commissioners authorize the County Manager to sign the MOU. <br /> <br />Ms. Dempsey-Tanner asked whether there were any updates about regionalization. Ms. Coston <br />responded that the work group has finished phase one of their work, which deals with state <br />supervision, and are about to start on the second phase regarding how county departments should <br />be altered. Ms. Coston explained regionalization and performance measures are both components <br />of HB630. <br /> <br />Ms. Dempsey-Tanner asked for an update on NC FAST with Child Welfare. Ms. Mitchell explained <br />staff are continuing to maintain a good attitude with the implementation and are continuing to <br />accomplish their work with families. As an extended pilot, staff are encountering some defects but <br />also have given feedback to the NC FAST project team about ways to make the product more <br />efficient. Ms. Coston reported IBM has recently engaged in meetings with the original pilot counties. <br /> <br />2. Director’s Report <br /> <br />Nancy Coston reminded the Board the Director’s evaluation needs to be completed at the next <br />meeting in June. <br /> <br />VII. Announcements <br /> <br />Tamara Dempsey-Tanner moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:25 pm. Susie Enoch seconded the motion.
