Middle school <br />students in particular appear to be at risk for many mental health conditions. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To the left is a visual for <br />middle school question <br />categories examined as a <br />part of the 2017 YRBS in <br />CHCCS, and the percent <br />of questions that showed <br />better/ worse response <br />trends. <br />Only 8% of middle school <br />questions (7/73) showed <br />movement in a positive <br />direction, while 37% <br />(31/73) show movement <br />in a negative direction. <br /> <br /> <br /> high school students and 1 in 10 middle school students has been <br />prescribed medication for mental health; similarly <br /> high school students, and 1 in 10 middle school students report they <br />would use mental health services provided at school if they were free and <br />confidential. <br /> <br /> <br />YRBS data show students face stressors in their day to day lives (CHCCS). <br /> middle and high school students is eligible for Free or Reduced Lunch <br /> <br />middle and high school students report their family feels financial stress. <br /> <br />high school students report getting fewer than 8 hours of sleep a night <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />YRBS data show students are dealing with mental health conditions (CHCCS). <br /> <br />middle school students has made a suicide plan, <br /> <br />middle school students reported purposely hurting themselves. <br /> <br />middle school students has attempted suicide. <br /> <br />YRBS data show students are at risk for physical self-harm (CHCCS and OCS). <br /> <br />1 in 5 <br />> 3 in 10 <br />70% <br /> <br />1 in 10 <br />13% <br /> 1 in 25 <br /> <br />Change in CHCCS Middle School Reponses, 2015 to 2017 <br />1 in 5 <br /> <br />1 in 5 <br />
