<br />Proposed Change in Board Policy on Appointments <br />The Issue: What constittrtes a frill teen, unexpired or partial tei7n <br />appointment foi° board appointments. <br />New Police: Appointment to serve for any actual period of two (2) years or <br />more will constitute a full term. Appointment for any actual period of less <br />than two (2) years will constit<rte a partial or unexpired tern. <br />Effect: Any appointment where the person actually selves less than two <br />years will constitute a partial term and the person will be eligible to serve for <br />two more frill teens, if appointed. Any appointment where the person <br />actually serves two years or more will constihrte a full terns and the person <br />may only serve one more frill term, if appointed, <br />Implementation: The resolution, Orange County Appoinhnent and <br />Orientation Process for Boards and Conunissions Section 8, will be changed <br />as follows: <br />8. For boards/commissions, which are not state mandated, the Board's policy is to <br />limit the length of service to two-three year terms (or' an,y combination of full Perms <br />totaling six .years) on the various boards and commissions. This will allow for more individuals to serve and for <br />diversity of opinions. It will also provide for conformity in the length and number of <br />terms for those boards and commissions that are not state mandated with set <br />terms. The Board will limit the length of service according to this policy for boards <br />and commissions that are State mandated, to the extent permitted under state law. <br />
