Cameron Street <br />Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br />Dear Mr. Laughton: <br />32 <br />On May 22, 2018 the Board of Aldermen for the Town of Carrboro authorized me to submit a <br />request to Orange County to use some of the South Orange Fire District (SOFD) fund balance to <br />purchase a 4x4 command vehicle (Resolution adopted by Board of Aldermen is attached.). It's our <br />understanding that as of June 30, 2017, the total available fund balance was $171,888. <br />The Carrboro Fire - Rescue Department currently has a Brush Truck that is ill- suited for the needs <br />of the Town and SOFD. This truck has never been utilized for its intended purpose. As a result of <br />non -use, the Brush Truck has experienced extensive and expensive maintenance issues.
