13 <br />Appropriated for this proiect: <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There are no Orange County Social Justice Goals <br />associated with this item. <br />Sheriff's Office <br />17.The Sheriff's Office has the following year -end adjustments that are needed in the Jail <br />Inmate Fund and the Drug Forfeiture Fund, as well as the receipt of a grant award: <br />• The Jail Inmate Fund is a fiduciary fund and all remaining funds should be <br />transferred out of the fund to either a special revenue fund or to the General Fund <br />and reported as revenues of the County and used to track expenditures for <br />equipment needs or providing indigent services to the inmates. The Sheriff's <br />Office recommends using current remaining funds of $84,732 in the following <br />manner: (1) Increase the current Jail Nurse contract with Southern Health Partners <br />from 12 hours per day, 7 days per week to 18 hours per day, 7 days per week, at <br />an annual cost of $60,540; and (2) Designate the remaining $24,192 in Committed <br />Fund Balance within the General Fund for use in FY 2018 -19. This budget <br />amendment provides for the transfer of funds totaling $84,732 from the Jail Inmate <br />Fund to the General Fund for the above stated purposes. <br />• The Drug Forfeiture Fund was established in FY 2015 -16 to record Federal and <br />State Forfeiture funds, and to account for the receipt and disbursement of these <br />funds. This budget amendment provides for the budgeting of these funds in the <br />amount of $888,233 in order to receive the funds and to establish appropriation <br />authorization for the expenditure of these funds. <br />• The Sheriff's Office has received notification of a Grant award of $2,500 from the <br />Alzheimer's Foundation of America to help those affected by Alzheimer's and <br />other dementia related illnesses. These funds will be used to support training and <br />equipment needs for the life track program (to track walk off patients).
