14 <br /> <br />Neighbors. She has directed the Director of Animal Services to do a Request for Proposal <br />(RFP) with both services to give them an opportunity to get a contract. She said Our Wild <br />Neighbors will no longer appear as an outside agency. <br />Bonnie Hammersley said the Tide Center did not get funded this year, because they did <br />not score well. She said one reason for the lower score was due to a change in their vision <br />from working with youth to providing training for outside agencies. She said this is not a service <br />that the County provides, and the reviewing advisory board did not deem this as a needed <br />service to fund. <br />Bonnie Hammersley said the Refugee Center requested less than it did last year, and <br />were fully funded at the reduced amount. <br />Bonnie Hammersley resumed the PowerPoint presentation: <br /> <br />Bonnie Hammersley said all of these organizations scored well because they do <br />important work for Orange County residents. She said all of these agencies are open to <br />work ing together collaboratively. <br />Commissioner McKee clarified that all of these are working toward better collaboration. <br />Bonnie Hammersley said yes. She said Nancy Coston, Department of Social Services <br />(DSS) Director, pulled together these groups for two meetings, and they will hold more <br />meetings going forward. She said she hopes there will be collaboration with some of these <br />agencies by this time next year. <br />Commissioner McKee asked if staff could speak to these agencies about aligning their <br />qualifications for service. <br />Bonnie Hammersley said that is one of the goals. <br />Commissioner McKee said there are differentials on eligibility requirements. <br />Bonnie Hammersley said staff is aware of this issue, and is working on solving it.
