On behalf of OCSWM, Draper Aden Associates <br />submitted to NCDEQ - Division of Water Quality - Aquifer Protection Section an assessment of the underground <br />injection program activities. This submittal was in partial fulfillment of renewing the facility's Underground <br />Injection Permit (W10500293). <br />Semiannual Groundwater Monitoring Program. Draper Aden Associates conducts semiannual groundwater <br />sampling at the Orange County Regional Landfill - North Facility. DAA coordinates field and laboratory <br />services, obtains groundwater samples from compliance monitoring wells, nature and extent monitoring wells, <br />remediation injection program wells, and surface water locations, reviews sampling documentation received <br />from groundwater sampling personnel, chemically analyzes groundwater samples (ENCO), validates analytical <br />data provided by the contracted laboratory (Level 2), updates historical summary tables, and prepare a report <br />suitable for direct submission to NCDEQ. <br />Quarterly Corrective Action Monitoring Program. Draper Aden Associates also conducts quarterly <br />groundwater sampling at the Orange County Regional Landfill - North Facility, in accordance with the approved <br />selected remedy. DAA coordinates field and laboratory services, obtains groundwater samples from two <br />compliance wells (MW -21 S, MW -21 D) and two nature - and - extent wells (MW -23, MW -24) for the following <br />constituents, as specified in the Underground Injection Permit: carbon dioxide, chloride, manganese, mercury, <br />potassium, volatile organic compounds listed in NCDEQ Appendix I, reviews sampling documentation received <br />from groundwater sampling personnel, chemically analyzes groundwater samples (ENCO), validates analytical <br />data provided by the contracted laboratory (Level 2), updates historical summary tables, and prepare a report <br />suitable for direct submission to NCDEQ. <br />Surface Water Monitoring Program. Draper Aden Associates conducts surface water sampling at the Orange <br />County Regional Landfill. DAA coordinates field and laboratory services, obtains surface water samples, reviews <br />sampling documentation received from surface water sampling personnel, chemically analyzes surface water <br />samples (ENCO), validates analytical data provided by the contracted laboratory (Level 2), updates surface water <br />summary tables, and prepare a report suitable for direct submission to NCDEQ. <br />Orange County Regional Landfill: South Facility <br />Semiannual Groundwater Monitoring Program. Draper Aden Associates conducts semiannual groundwater <br />sampling at the Orange County Regional Landfill - South Facility. DAA coordinates field and laboratory services, <br />obtains groundwater samples from compliance monitoring wells, reviews sampling documentation received <br />from groundwater sampling personnel, chemically analyzes groundwater samples (ENCO), validates analytical <br />data provided by the contracted laboratory (Level 2), updates historical summary tables, and prepare a report <br />suitable for direct submission to NCDEQ. <br />Leachate Monitoring Program.
