<br />FFY 2018 Annual Action Plan
<br />Orange County HOME Consortium
<br />and ideas on the housing, community development, and economic development needs in Orange
<br />County and how the HOME funds should best be spent to benefit low- and moderate - income
<br />persons.
<br />The Orange County Department of Housing and Community Development held a Funding
<br />Application Orientation Workshop on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 9:00 AM in the Chapel Hill
<br />Public Library located at 100 Library Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27514. The Orange County HOME
<br />Consortium also held two (2) Question and Answer Session on applications for HOME funding on
<br />Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 9:00 AM and Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 9:00 AM in the Chapel
<br />Hill Public Library located at 100 Library Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27514, Applications for HOME
<br />funding were due back to the County by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Information was
<br />also available on the Orange County Department of Housing and Community Development's
<br />website.
<br />The second public hearing was held on Tuesday, Apr[ 3, 2018 °'at 7:00 PM at the Whitted Building,
<br />300 W Tryon Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278. The second needs hearing was published on March
<br />13, 2018 in "The Durham Herald -Sun" and on' Mareh 14, ,-2018 in "The Chapel Hill News It was
<br />posted on the County's website and p ails were At to local municipalities and non - profit
<br />agencies /organizations. At the public LSea g; residents had the opportunity to give their input
<br />and ideas on the housing, commu Ity developrmr ent, and onemlc development needs in Orange
<br />County and how the HOME funds should best be spit to, benefit, low- and moderate - income
<br />persons. _
<br />The final Public Hearing Notice was published on Thursday„ May 17, 2018 in "The Durham Herald -
<br />Sun", "The News of _Orange ";'and the Spanish Language newspaper, "La Noticia," The Public

<br />projects /activities were being funded wifH, FFY 2018 HOME funds.
<br />The draft FFY 2018 Annual Action Plan =.Y✓as on public display beginning Thursday, March 29, 2018
<br />through Friday, April 27, 2018, a period of 30 days. HUD had allocated a funding increase of
<br />$111,647 from the anticipated HOME budget advertised on March 13, 2018, which was discussed
<br />at a public hearing held on April 3, 2018, and approved by County Commissioners on May 1, 2018.
<br />Due to this substantial increase in funding, the County revised the FFY 2018 Annual Action Plan
<br />and placed the plan back on public display beginning Friday, May 18, 2018 through Monday, June
<br />18, 2018. Both the original and revised FFY 2018 Annual Action Plans were place on display at the
<br />following location in the County and on the County's website (http: / /www.co.orange.nc.us):
