I have experience <br />working with people with substance abuse issues. I also have addressed underage drinking in <br />the community-both on the high school and university level. I worked with other agencies and <br />organizations in the county that provide alcohol related services-underage drinking education <br />and prevention, detox, treatm ent, and support to fam ilies. <br /> <br />I retired from the Chapel Hill Police Departm ent in 2007. I served as crisis counselor , <br />adm inistrative assistant, and police analyst. The police analyst position included the following <br />duties/functions: maintaining the department’s computerized records system, supervising <br />the Information Technology Unit, serving as the public inform ation of ficer, crime analysis, and <br />planning. <br /> <br />I am familiar with North Carolina alcohol laws, as well as m unicipal and county governm ent.
