<br />ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: June 19, 2018 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 11-a <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - Appointment <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners <br /> <br /> <br />ATTACHMENT(S): Under Separate Cover <br />Membership Roster <br />Recommendation <br />Application for Person Recommended <br />Attendance Record <br />Applicant Interest List <br />Applications of Persons on the Interest List <br /> <br /> <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Clerk’s Office, 919-245-2130 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />PURPOSE: To consider making an appointment to the Adult Care Home Community Advisory <br />Committee. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The following information is for Board consideration: <br /> <br />(NOTE: As of July 1, 2017, a new bill was passed in the North Carolina Legislature <br />regarding the training period for pending members of the “Adult Care Home Community <br />Advisory Committee and Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee”. The bill is <br />HB248 (see attachment) which reverses the appointment of the applicant to a one year <br />training term. Applicants will be selected from our county “Applicant Interest List” for a <br />more condensed training and if the applicant successfully completes the training, they <br />would be recommended for appointment. Therefore, when an applicant is recommended <br />for appointment, it would initially be for a one year preliminary term and their training will <br />have already been completed. <br /> <br />• Reappointment to an additional term (Position #8) “At-Large” position for Gloria <br />Brown, MSW expiring 06/30/2020. <br /> <br />POSITION NO.
