Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Amendments – Subdivisions 27 <br />The Board held a public hearing on a Planning Director initiated Unified Development 28 <br />Ordinance (UDO) text amendment revising regulations governing the processing of subdivision 29 <br />applications to incorporate recent changes in State law and decide on one of the following 30 <br />options: 31 <br />a. Adopt the proposed amendments by approving the Statement of Consistency 32 <br />b. Defer a decision to a later BOCC regular meeting date 33 <br />c. Refer the item back to the Planning Board for a specific purpose. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Michael Harvey reviewed the following information: 36 <br /> 37 <br /> 38 <br />• If the Concept Plan is approved, the property owner submits the Final Plat application, 39 <br />which is completed by a land surveyor. 40 <br /> 41 <br />This Plat is reviewed/signed by Environmental Health (verifying septic areas have been 42 <br />identified), Planning staff (certifying the project complies with applicable regulations), 43 <br />and the appropriate School System (per the adequate public facilities ordinance). 44 <br /> 45 <br />There is a $140.00 application fee for this process as well. 46 <br /> 47 <br />The new law means a 3 lot division of property, meeting all criteria as contained herein, 48 <br />is only obligated to submit a Final Plat containing the information required under NC 49 <br />General Statute 47-30. 50
