I agree to foster the animal subject to the <br />following terms and conditions until it can be made available for adoption, at which time I understand I will have the first <br />right, but not the obligation, to adopt the animal. Please read carefully and sign below. <br /> <br />Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) agrees to the following; <br />1. The animal you will be fostering has been: <br />a. Given a complete physical exam. <br />b. Vaccinated with all age appropriate vaccinations <br />c. Examined for internal parasites, if age appropriate, and treated if positive. <br />d. Tested for feline leukemia if age appropriate (if applicable) <br />2. OCAS makes no guarantees, claims, representations, or warranties, either express or implied, as to the behavior, <br />health, temperament or training of the above-described animal(s). <br />3. OCAS retains legal ownership of all foster animals, reserves the right to contact and/or visit the foster home at any <br />time regarding the welfare of the foster animal, including taking possession of the foster animal if the animal is <br />not returned to OCAS for scheduled medical appointments. <br /> <br />The Foster Volunteer agrees to the following: <br />1. I agree to provide the animal(s) with the following basic requirements; <br />a. Provide adequate food and water in order to maintain normal health and weight <br />b. Provide clean and safe shelter within a safe and comfortable temperature range <br />c. Provide kind and gentle treatment at all times, and include this pet as a member of the family <br />2. I agree to the ensure that the animal will remain indoors only for the duration of this foster contract <br />3. I agree to notify OCAS if I believe the animal requires veterinary attention. OCAS will determine if any medical <br />care will be performed on the animal. The foster parent may at his/her own expense, and with prior approval from <br />the Veterinary Health Care Manager, provide veterinary intervention. <br />4. I agree to notify OCAS of any address changes <br />5. I agree to notify OCAS if at any point I decide that I can no longer foster the animal. <br />6. I agree to not allow the animal to be used for medical or other experimental purposes <br />7. I agree to transport this animal within an enclosed vehicle. Cats must be transported within a cat carrier in the <br />enclosed vehicle. <br />8. I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless OCAS, Orange County, and any of its officers, officials, <br />employees, or agents from all losses, liabilities, claims, demands, suits, costs, damages or expenses (including <br />reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from bodily injury, including death, to any person or persons or damage to <br />property caused in whole or in part by any negligent or intentional act on the part of myself or occurred to or <br />suffered by myself, my household, or any third parties directly or indirectly related to activities arising out of this <br />Foster Contract. <br />9. I agree to not promise the animal to anyone or to imply the authority to approve a potential adoption
