2 <br /> <br />(B) Homeless Pets Initiative <br />There was no update on the pets of the homeless project. Michelle Walker made a motion to appoint Judy and <br />Aviva to a committee to explore community-based resources for this project with Corey Root, Orange County <br />Homeless Program Coordinator; Maureane Hoffman seconded. The motion carried without dissent. <br /> <br />New Business: <br />(A) Amending Animal Services Advisory Board Policies and Procedures <br />Warren Porter presented proposed changes to the ASAB Policies and Procedures. Revisions in governance <br />document need to reflect the current appeals procedures. Edmund Tikyakian will submit revisions in <br />September as an action item for the October meeting. Then the Orange County BOCC will be informed of <br />the revisions. <br />(B) Animal Services Updates <br />Bob Marotto presented highlights from this month’s Animal Services report. This included marked <br />reductions in euthanasia and great increases in transfers and returns. This is attributed to good fostering <br />and transfer partnerships and adoption promotions like Clear the Shelters, which was held in July. <br /> <br />Adjournment and next meeting: <br />Michael Stewart made a motion to adjourn at 8:11; Maureane Hoffman seconded.
