Information Item—Animal Welfare Grant <br />August 12, 2016 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />applying, recipients of grant funds also agree to allow Animal Services to use their name and/or <br />program description for use in future outreach opportunities. This will allow for more diverse <br />and varied outreach options in the years to come. <br /> <br />The donation for the grant program was made with the understanding that it would be divided <br />over a 10-year period and awarded in amounts of $500 to organizations or individuals seeking to <br />advance animal welfare in Orange County. There has also been a discussion of encouraging <br />additional donations to support the grant program through the Orange County Community <br />Giving Fund. <br /> <br />The ASAB as a whole as reviewed the grant in full and unanimously supports its creation. There <br />has also been a legal review of the grant by the county’s staff attorney.
