<br />Note: The Current FY 2017 -18 Budget represents the cumulative budgeted funds for this project 
<br />since inception of the Medicaid Maximization Capital Project. Staff plans to bring 
<br />recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners in a future BOCC meeting for closing 
<br />out completed portions of county capital projects. 
<br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are

<br />The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding 
<br />necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for 
<br />themselves and their dependents. 
<br />• GOAL: FOSTER A COMMUNITY CULTURE THAT REJECTS OPPRESSION 
<br />AND INEQUITY 
<br />The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race or 
<br />color; religious or philosophical beliefs; sex, gender or sexual orientation; national 
<br />origin or ethnic background; age; military service; disability; and familial, residential 
<br />or economic status. 
<br />White Cross Volunteer Fire Department 
<br />4. The White Cross Volunteer Fire Department has requested $30,000 from the district's 
<br />Unassigned Fund Balance (See Attachment 3). These funds will be used to replace 
<br />twenty -two (22) sets of outdated turnout gear. With this appropriation, approximately 
<br />$23,000 remains in the district's Unassigned Fund Balance. This budget amendment 
<br />provides for this appropriation from the district's Unassigned Fund Balance. (See 
<br />Attachment 1, column 4)

<br />associated with this item. 
<br />Piedmont Food and Agricultural Processing (PFAP) Center — Golden LEAF Foundation 
<br />Grant 
<br />5. Orange County has received notification from the Golden LEAF Foundation of a grant 
<br />award of $128,000 to meet demand for services at the Piedmont Food and Agricultural 
<br />Processing Center. PFAP nurtures and supports food and ag entrepreneurs, grows local 
<br />businesses, and participates in state -wide efforts to grow the food and ag economy. This
