The BOCC will be asked formally to accept the grant funding once the details are worked out. <br />Orange County Citizen Corps Council will be able to keep any remaining funding from this <br />effort. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The cast of the conference will be borne by the State of North Carolina. <br />There is the potential for any remaining funds left over from the approximate conference budget <br />of $62,000 to revert to the County's use for related purposes. There will be some incidental <br />cost to the County in terms of staff time involved to help organize the conference, but no out of <br />pocket expenditures related to hosting the conference. Some economic development benefit <br />should be realized related to hotels, restaurants, etc. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board endorse the County's <br />hosting of the October 2005 CCC Conference and authorize staff to carry out the necessary <br />administrative and logistical tasks associated with it. <br />
