5

Karen Lincoln: No, but some of the types of projects mentioned would suggest what an enhancement project would
be.

Bryn Smith: Would the bridge be an example of that?

Karen Lincoln: There maybe something in connection with the bridge that we could do. Let me talk about
Attachment 5. This is a call for projects like mid-2008. This is also reimbursement program. On the back page there
are more guidelines. They have taken some of the money for Safety School Program to be distributed. It has to go
through the application. You can combine funds.

Nancy Baker: They are trying for funding for Nash Street in Hillsborough. They are looking at funding from DOT.

Bryn Smith: A sidewalk?

Nancy Baker: Yes.

Alice Gordon: It would be helpful for you to get your thoughts about the projects and different sizes of the projects so
when the grants come through, you will have a list ready.

Randy Marshall: Someone has come up with a priority list from the school system. We can do the same with a list.

Nancy Baker: That is a good idea.

Randy Marshall: The ETA would be interested in ding that. Gathering data and ranking with the costs.

Pat Middendorf: The 70-90% is for small capital projects? You could do several ‘walk and don’t walk’ signs.

Randy Marshall: It is a tradeoff if you can use this transportation money. We could send letters to the schools asking
for the top 3 needs of the school regarding transportation.

Sam Lasris: Are we in agreement that we want a list for the next meeting?

Paul Guthrie: I think we don’t need a broad range of projects. We need specific type of projects.

Karen Lincoln: We need to clear a meeting to get the maps out to see what exists.

Randy Marshall: It sounds like you can organize it by funding source.

Bryn Smith: We would like to develop a standing list of projects.

Alice Gordon: You need to confirm your list of big and small ticket projects.

Karen Lincoln: I would suggest we work on this the next meeting. We need to adopt a meeting schedule and make
a list of these projects.
VIII. Adjournment

Tina L. Owen, Minutes Preparer
